What hydro jetting is, and when Stanton properties need it
Hydro jetting uses a high-pressure water stream, typically 3,000 to 4,000 PSI for residential drain lines, directed through a specialized nozzle inside the pipe. Unlike a drain cable, which punches a hole through a blockage, the hydro jet nozzle sprays backward as it advances, scouring the pipe wall and flushing debris out through the cleanout. The result is a cleaner pipe surface with more restored flow capacity and a longer interval before the next service call.
Stanton's stock of 1960s-80s cast iron drain systems makes hydro jetting a primary tool rather than an upgrade service. After 50 to 60 years of use, cast iron pipe interiors develop a rough, corroded surface that catches grease, soap, and debris much faster than the original smooth surface would. A cable machine clears the immediate blockage but leaves the surface condition unchanged. Hydro jetting addresses the surface, which is why drain service intervals extend significantly after jetting compared to cable clearing alone.
The Beach Boulevard commercial corridor and Katella Avenue business strip in Stanton also generate commercial hydro jetting demand. Restaurant and food-service operators in these areas run high-grease kitchen drain lines that require periodic jetting to maintain flow capacity and comply with commercial plumbing maintenance obligations.
