Plumbing service for Cypress and the central OC area
Cypress sits directly west of Stanton and shares one of the most important plumbing infrastructure characteristics of any city in our service area: it is also served by Golden State Water Company's West Orange County system. The same moderately hard water supply (200 to 300 ppm, a blend of OC groundwater and MWD imports) that affects Stanton homeowners affects Cypress homes identically. Scale accumulation in water heaters, mineral deposits on faucet cartridges and aerators, and accelerated corrosion on copper hot water lines are all common in Cypress for the same reason they are common in Stanton.
Cypress built out primarily in the 1960s and 1970s as a planned suburban community with single-family residential as the dominant housing type. At lower density than Stanton and with somewhat larger lot sizes, Cypress has less multi-family housing but the same aging single-family stock concerns: galvanized supply lines in pre-1965 homes, copper supply failures in 1960s-70s slab foundation homes, and cast iron drain pipes at the end of their expected service life in older construction.
